I never really thought I would get COD, but after getting the COD 5 Zombies app on my iPod, I thought I would, for the zombies. After playing it, though, I really enjoyed it. I like the concept of the zombies, and it's really good fun, although I hope there are going to be more maps after Ascension, because three isn't really enough. The online is good aswell, with a huge range of game modes and maps.
I personally never really liked Black Ops multiplayer. The concept of the killstreaks, the different game modes, and the custom classes, and a new addition with Black Ops, Theater mode, but, unlike my current favourite first person shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, it lacks realism. I was able to enjoy a good few weeks on multiplayer, but after that I quickly got bored. The Black Ops maps are too small, the weapons are too advanced for a game set in the vietnam war, and the in-game sounds are not quite right, to name a few things. These are a few reasons why I prefer the Zombies mode. Firstly, it is just more fun than playing multiplayer. Also, weirdly, there is more of an objective. I know that in multiplayer there are various different game modes and objectives, but in Zombies mode there is something to work for, the entire time. The whole aspect of 4 players fighting to survive for as long as possible is a really great idea Call Of Duty have come up with, and in my opinion, is the best idea that they have come up with. There is also a story-line behind Zombies, but I won't go into that, but do look it up. There was a lot of complaining when Black Ops first came out that it wasn't as good as Modern Warfare 2, and, although I have only played MW2 a few times, I agree with. The level of graphic have pretty much stayed the same since MW2, and the gameplay is also very similar. All in all, Treyarch could have done a lot more with this game. I personally am not a huge CoD fan, but other people with different views may think otherwise that this game could have been better. My rating, therefore, is going to be 7/10.
